Märchen von einem, der auszog, Verwandlung zu lernen
August 2011 the 13th, 21hrs Sankt Matthäus cemetery,Großgörschenstrasse 12-14, Berlin
The story of the youth who went forth to learn what metamorphoses was
an immaterial sculpture of correspondences
On the full moon night of the 13th of August we want to celebrate this human capacity of transformation with you: in the bewitching atmosphere of the Sankt Matthäus cemetery, constructed at the zenith of german romanticism, the protagonists of the evening will interprete, play, read, perform or dance some of the well and less well know fairy-tales collected by the brothers Grimm – surely the most prominent personalitites lying on this cemetery. Most of these folkloristic stories are centered around the metamorphosis of humans into animal form, and vice-versa. The trail through abandoned graves, historical sculptures and overgrown spots well lead us to rediscover the colourful world of fairy-tales. We invite you to join us on this evening of fantasy, music and performances in the probably most lively cemetery of Berlin.
Free entrance. Please bring torch lights!
